Project Lifesaver

Guilford Police Department is proud to offer the Project Lifesaver program to residents in town who live with a cognitive disability, have a full time caretaker and who have the propensity to wander. This device has saved thousands of adults and children throughout the U.S. who have wandered away from their caretakers, it reduces the search time to often less than 30 minutes, and is minimal in cost. The equipment consists of a wristband or ankleband that contains a small transmitter and battery. The transmitter is a unique radio frequency to each person. The police and fire department both have a received that is activated when the adult or child goes missing. The responding units can then track the device even while en route to the call. This program is offered free to Guilford Residents and is utilized in all 50 states, as well as, several other countries. For more information contact Sgt. Jakober or Sgt. Duro via email or contact 203-453-8061. You can also check out the website for Project Lifesaver to learn more about bringing loved ones home.
